Star Wars Sightings in Newbury

A man who was taking publicity shots at Greenham Common, Newbury for a flying school was surprised to find he had accidently taken photos of filming from the new Star Wars film.

Matthew Myatt orgiinally thought the pictures were of experimental aircraft. He told the BBC: “It wasn’t too clear until I viewed the picture and then realised what it was. I grew up with Star Wars so I started jumping around.”

“I had to go and grab my son who’s a big Star Wars fan and get him to come and look at the picture and pinch me and make sure I’d seen what I’d seen.

“It was one of those unbelievable moments.”

Disney, which purchased Lucasfilm in 2012 for $4.06 billon, declined to comment on the pictures.

Star Wars Episode VII will see the return of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamil), Han Solo (Harrison Ford) & Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) and is due out in December 2015.

They will be joined by About Time and Black Mirror star Domhnall Gleeson, Daisy Ridley and John Boyega.
