Supersoonic Car
The British supersonic car built to attempt a new 1,000mph land speed record successfully had its first public trial on the 25th October. The car was on trial and only doing a 5th of its capability of 200mph at Newquay airport in Cornwall.
The Bloodhound has been nine years in development, combining technology from motorsport, space travel and a fighter jet. It will attempt to smash the current land speed record of 763mph set back in 1997 by Andy Green.
In 2019 on a specially-cleared desert course in South Africa the Bloodhound will attempt to cover a mile at top speed in just 3.6 seconds.
