On Tuesday 17th April, AVE Services helped the UCL unveil a new plaque at the Kathleen Lonsdale building. The plaque was opened proudly by Sir David Attenborough.

The building which is home to Earth Sciences and groups for Chemistry had undergone a £27.5 million refurbishment and Sir David was there to re-open it for them.

As part of the celebrations, scientists Professor Paul Bown and Dr Jeremy Young named a newly discovered ocean plankton species in honour of the BBC’s Blue Planet series production team.
