The Cty of San Bartolomé de Tirajana has begun a new byelaw that requires bars and music venue owners to install centrally controlled sound delimiters. Those that fail to comply could face fines between 1,500€ and 15,000€.

The municipal council has stated that they plan to start inspecting any venue that uses sound amplification equipment to make sure they are staying within the new guidelines. Businesses have six months to adapt their premises.

The officially approved limiters come as a sealed unit to prevent tampering, and with a built-in backup battery to avoid power failures. They have a storage capacity that stores one month of data, allowing inbuilt inspection software to feedback to central data processing units and therefore the local police.

It is suspected that the units will use Ecudap system technology in the systems.
